No — zero electricity required. DeepSpaceCool's technology is fully passive. It works by reflecting solar radiation and simultaneously emitting heat through the 8–13μm atmospheric window directly to outer space. This is a physical process that operates continuously as long as the material is exposed to the sky.
UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) measures how much UV radiation penetrates a fabric. UPF 2000+ means less than 0.05% of UV radiation passes through — blocking 99.95%+ of UVA and UVB rays. This is significantly higher than standard UPF 50+ fabrics (which block 98% of UV). It provides exceptional protection for prolonged sun exposure.
Regular reflective materials (like silver-coated or aluminum foil) only reflect sunlight — they don't actively dissipate heat that's already absorbed. Over time, they heat up and re-radiate that heat. DeepSpaceCool's radiative cooling material does two things simultaneously: (1) reflects 84-85% of solar radiation, AND (2) emits absorbed heat as infrared radiation through the atmospheric window to outer space. This dual action creates a true cooling effect, not just reduced heating.
The cooling effect lasts as long as the product is exposed to the sky — it's a continuous physical process. For car covers specifically, testing shows effective cooling for 8+ hours continuously. The material does not "run out" or require recharging. Performance remains consistent through the product's lifespan with proper care.
Most products can be gently hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and high-heat drying. Air drying is recommended. For car covers, wipe clean with a damp cloth. Detailed care instructions are included with each product. Proper care maintains cooling performance over time.
Yes. Our pet cooling tents use the same radiative cooling fabric as our standard tents. The fabric is free from harmful chemicals, with carcinogenic aromatic amines tested as "not detected" (未检出) per Oeko-Tex standards. Formaldehyde content is below 20ppm — well within safe limits. The passive cooling nature means no electrical components near your pet.
